Defining a category for the works of Indonesian artist and photographer, Yohanes Paganda Halasan Harahap (Agan Harahap) is not an easy task. The forms and the visual translations of his themes are assumed as too diverse.
Each assignment leads to a unique work of art, sometimes visually enhancing the content of a feature, sometimes to be considered a work in its own right. It sounds quite abstract, in reality his creations are a merger of aesthetic photography with meticulous digital imaging methods.
Looking at his latest exhibition, Safari, I believe he has melted the boundaries between his utterly bizarre fantasy and reality. For Agan, Safari is an exploration of his limitless imaginary and also as a parody of his daily routine as a human being. And in his hands, various animals are given a new life by being placed into common situations that we may face in our daily lives.

Whatever he creates, it is done with a humorous touch and a great love for detail.
