WE ARE AT WAR

As an Indonesian, it is always fascinating for me to come across new Indonesian designers who have a solid online website (great navigation and well update).  I really believe the one who did this is really know how to play and stay in the game.  There were a lot of talented designers from Indonesia but only a few of them who pay a lot of attention on their website/blog/lookbook/facebook, and its really bothers me!

Come on guys (yes, its you the one who read this, the talented young designer or a student, a dreamer, whoever you are) , if you don’t have money to make your own web, you can get yourself a blog, a lookbook or a facebook page for your own stuff, its free). There is no harm in marketing your stuff virtually).

Ok enough of the babbling.  Fortunately for us, a Jakarta-born and based designer, Nina Nikicio of NIKICIO seems to know how to play and stay in this fashion industry. Concluding from her fourth collection “WAR”, which inspired by the fine line between love and hate. Her inspiration is echoing in each piece of her collection, from a cat printed suit with the matching clutch and pumps as an ode to her preference towards dogs to a luxurious fur coat (even though she is allergy towards fur).

With her consistent, androgynous, classic, constructed yet wearable collection, I believe she’s in the right path.

yeah…i don’t know i should be proud or the other way around. because i smells something typical Indonesian. I don’t know it’s just coincidence or what..i just found the cat printed luggage in ebay which the print and the fabric is 100% same.

The luggage on ebay is tacky and cheap. Kudos to Nina for turning that fabric into something whimsical yet classic.

Perhaps a little less time critiquing others and more at EF, Jane.
