NEW YORK ROYAL GIRL

Fashion Institute of Technology alumni, Liquica Anggraini, never saw fashion as a hobby or a profession.  She considered fashion as a way of life.

Growing up as an army brat, she was constantly relocated to different regions of the archipelago and every move meant: a new culture to comprehend, a new language to learn, and a new friends to make.  At that time when Indonesian was becoming aware of fashion in the West, she realised that the easiest way to connect with people was through her sense of style.

When she discovered a semi-abandoned warehouse full of vintage western clothing and ancient seconds from designers who produced in Indonesia, she knew that her fate was sealed.  She soon opened Srengèngè, a boutique in the bohemian city of Semarang and started to design her own line that blended traditional influences with vintage flair and a refined sexiness.

In the fall of 2000, she decided to relocate to New York City and refining her skills at Fashion Institute of Technology.

In the summer of 2007 , she established her own label, Radenroro.  Literally means: “Royal Girl”, a title given to Javanese daughters from blue blood families, as a tribute to herself and her native land.

Very interesting designs, but as for the article there were a lot of grammatical errors I’m afraid. Other than that, impressive!
